Brooklyn Cello Choir
Brooklyn Cello Choir
Students in Book 5 and beyond with strong reading skills join the Cello Choir, a monthly group practice designed to expand students’ musical abilities and independent learning. This all-cello ensemble invites cellists to become the leading voices of a chamber group while receiving individualized attention. Cello Choir simulates a professional setting, with students learning parts individually and coming together several times for rehearsal before a performance. The experience fosters collaborative playing, listening skills necessary for matching tones and harmonies, and a sense of motivation and community. Further, students in the Brooklyn Cello Choir have the opportunity to serve as Teaching Assistants, mentoring and supporting younger students in the Junior Cello Choir.
The Brooklyn Cello Choir is also open to advanced students from other cello studios (Book 5+ or by teacher recommendation), expanding opportunities within Brooklyn’s cello community!
Suzuki Cello Ensemble
For students in Book 1-4, Junior Cello Choir provides an opportunity to practice Suzuki repertoire while receiving guidance and mentorship from the advanced Brooklyn Cello Choir students. The program offers newer students a space to develop technical skills and a sense of musicality in a supportive learning environment.

Summer Practice Cello Collective
Summer Practice Cello Collective
A weekly program designed for motivated middle and high school cellists to stay engaged, focused, and continue improving throughout the summer. In teacher-guided Zoom sessions, students come together once a week to practice with purpose, refine effective practice strategies, stay accountable, and receive real-time teacher feedback. Each session, students will have the opportunity to play the repertoire section that they’ve been working on for the group—building consistency and confidence for a prepared start in the fall.
This is a unique opportunity to achieve significant musical goals over the summer within a supportive, structured community of like-minded, ambitious cellists. Limited to 16 students, the Collective ensures individualized attention and peer support. Like the monthly Brooklyn Cello Choir, the Summer Practice Cello Collective is open to students from other cello studios!
